Dating with marriage in mind as a gay man in Thailand is different now from what it was only a few years ago. Same-sex couples have been legally able to marry in Thailand since January 23, 2025, so marriage is no longer only a symbolic future goal for gay couples in the country. It can involve legal registration, property, inheritance, family rights, divorce, and other practical consequences. That makes it reasonable to date with marriage as a real possibility. It does not mean every date needs to become an assessment for husband potential. Marriage-minded dating works best when you are clear about the direction you want while still allowing attraction, trust, and compatibility to develop at a human pace.
